Meeting the “Legend”

Notes by yeyette on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 under Featured, Luzon

Standard Post with ImageWe were all excited to travel to Buscalan to meet Apo Whang-Od, the last "mambabatok", the legend. We left Maligcong at 9am and the next jeepney was at 12noon so we decided to walk from the guesthouse going to where there are "motorela or tuktuk" to Bontoc. We had fun walking along the way and make stops to take crazy photos. The view of Bontoc. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="640"] Bontoc view[/caption] Stay away, bitches. An old volk parked along the highway. Old but still lovely. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="640"] An old volk[/caption] We walked for 30 minutes and then a few minutes…more

Hiking Mt. Kupapey

Notes by yeyette on Friday, December 15th, 2017 under Featured, Luzon

Standard Post with ImageHiking Mt. Kupapey is a joy to behold. It is surrounded by green scenery and a guide dog! Walking as early as 4am. Warming up while waiting for the sun to shine. It was as cold as 16 degree Celcius. When the sun creeps in at the thick cloud early in the morning. Have you seen a "fogfall?" We did! It was like watching a waterfalls but instead of water, it's a fog. We are in perfect awe! [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="427"] Fogfall[/caption] "Hi Ms. Andreea, can you please talk to me? I'm so cold here." Ask Konig. Slowly, the…more

Camiguin, An Island Born of Fire

Notes by yeyette on Sunday, June 25th, 2017 under Featured, Mindanao

Standard Post with ImageAfter all the hassles given by Cebu Pacific Airline, we arrived Camiguin safely. Camiguin is an island province in the Philippines located in the Bohol Sea, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) off the northern coast of Mindanao. It is politically part of the Northern Mindanao Region of the country and formerly a part of Misamis Oriental province. Some thought that Camiguin is part of Vizayas, nope, it's part of Mindanao and IT IS SAFE to go there. Hidden Beach in Sentosa That You Didn’t Know

Notes by yeyette on Sunday, April 9th, 2017 under Featured, Singapore

Standard Post with ImageA lot of people in Singapore didn't know that there is a beach hiding at Sentosa. I've been living in Singapore for seven years and I've only known it lately when I joined a meetup group in  Singapore. Seashore is only passable during lowtide, happened in the afternoon and before the sun sets. I can't remember exactly the place to stop over to go there but as far as I can remember, we took a ride to go to an end place and when we walk, the last stop was Shangrila. So, to remember everything, we will start at Shangri La. Go…more

Toilet in Public Elementary School

Notes by yeyette on Friday, October 14th, 2016 under Charity, Featured

Standard Post with ImageMy cousin who is a teacher in a public elementary school in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental asked your help to build a toilet inside their classrooms. They have a common toilet but it is quite far and the kids will get drench if it will rain and it always is. Department of Education did remove the budget for all toilets inside the classroom unless someone will donate or the teacher pays itself. My cousin's concern is for her/their students not to run to the common toilet but to have a comfortable toilet (at least) inside their room. The rooms are under…more

I stay

Notes by yeyette on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 under Featured, Quotes & Poetry

Standard Post with ImageI've been into your world and I don't want to go back there. A world where I couldn't see myself. A world that is blurry. The world of emptiness. You asked me to go and find my own world. Scared, trampled, broken. I followed. Humbled. Head down. I prayed. I found my own world. Colors. Laughter. Calmness. Love. A new world where I can see myself. A world so clear I can see colors dancing right before my eyes. And I stay.  more
