Exploring Bako National Park

Notes by yeyette on Sunday, February 12th, 2017 under Borneo

Standard Post with ImageWe arranged a tour at a hotel to go to Bako National Park. My friend made the arrangement and I cannot remember the price. Waiting for our boat and guide. Our boat going to Bako. After some rough ride, we reached Bako. It was only about 30 minutes boat ride. Bako consists of coastal cliffs and rolling hills, and boasts fine sandy beaches surrounded by jungle. Coastal erosion has produced interesting sea stacks and rock formations. Alone at Santubong National Park

Notes by yeyette on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 under Borneo

Standard Post with ImageWe roam around the area of Damai and we found this sweet park just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We hired a taxi to go to Semenggoh to watch an Orangutan BUT... there was none on sight. It was a fruit season in the forest so they stayed there, hiding from the wave of eyes. Crocodile on the loose! An army of termites working together! If only human are like them. Working smart. A web of time :) Patiently waiting for the Orangutan(s). A park ranger waiting for an Orangutan to arrive. After a few minutes of waiting…more

Notes by yeyette on Friday, December 30th, 2016 under Borneo

Standard Post with ImageThe best thing to do when visiting a certain country is to know their culture. We visited Sarawak Cultural Village for a minimal entrance fee without a guide. You can choose with or without tourguide. Better choose with a tourguide. Entrance is around RM60.00 [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="640"] The entrance[/caption] See how lovely the place is? Notes by yeyette on Friday, October 14th, 2016 under Borneo

Standard Post with ImageChristmas is known to celebrate for get together with family and friends. Going back to my country on Christmas is very expensive so me and my housemate decided to spend Christmas away from everything. Then Borneo came to our mind and so we went. It was December 23, 2015 and everything was just normal. No Christmas songs in Kuching International Airport, not even a decoration. I miss Christmas songs and party and singing with friends for the first time. It was a quiet Christmas that time. We stayed in Damai Puri Resort and Spa and we have to argue with the…more

Notes by yeyette on Saturday, December 19th, 2015 under Jerangkang Waterfalls

Standard Post with ImageA friend invited me if I want to join their waterfalls fun climb in Jerangkang, Malaysia. Without hesitation, I said yes. But this climb is different from the previous climb we had. I don't know what to expect but as the word "climb", I was expecting to climb like around an hour or so. We paid SGD80 each from Singapore to Kuantan. We left in Mersing terminal at 1AM and arrived in Kuantan at around 6AM and took our breakfast.  After breakfast, we had another around 20 minutes drive and the van dropped us to a small mosque, waiting for our 4WD going…more

A Half Day Adventure

Notes by yeyette on Saturday, December 12th, 2015 under Desaru

Standard Post with ImageWho needs a whole day when you can do it in a half day? Yes, I don't like very short travels, but sometimes its all we need. We woke up at 5am and it was so dark. We waited for 15 minutes at the bridge and when there is no sign of the sun at all, we went back to the room and waited for another 20 minutes. When we were walking back to the bridge after another 20 minutes, we saw the sky is already in its work of art. For more sunrise photos, click here. After eye-lusting with…more
