Day 9: Elephant Trekking with Mountain View and Bangla Road (March 3, 2012)

Standard Post with ImageI took the Elephant trekking and it costs me THB1,450 (USD47.56).  They fetch me in the hotel by jeep safari.  There was a show for a few minutes for the baby elephants and you can feed them by buying fruit in a basket for THB100 (USD3.28). They also let the elephant draw by guiding the trunk of the elephant to draw letter M and eventually, the elephant will continue to do the drawing. Standard Post with ImageWe arrived in Phuket Terminal at 8:30AM.  At around 7:30AM, the staff gives us a wet wipes to wipe-out our oily faces.  The taxis in the bus terminal charged me 500Baht (USD16.52) to send me to Patong.  I decided to take a bus.  From the bus terminal, walk to the main road and you can see a 7 Eleven and cross the road.  They have a pink color bus stop and wait for the blue color bus in which you can read in big letter PHUKET-PATONG.  Wave the driver to let them stop.  The fare is only 25Baht (USD0.83).  Do…more

Standard Post with ImageI woke up 5:30 in the morning to catch the 6AM bus to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Taxi from Sansen (the address of the hotel where I stayed) to Southern Bus Terminal cost me 43Baht (USD1.41). If you are going to Southern Bus Terminal, some drivers don’t understand English, so tell them you are going to “Sai Thai”. This is what Auntie (owner of Roof View Hotel) kept on repeating to me.
