Birhen sa Moog

Drop your thoughts here

I asked my brother a day before to go to my father’s place in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental. It’s been 10 years since I didn’t visit his birthplace. I have never been to “Birhen sa Moog” as well, which is famous to it’s clear water.

The place is far from the highway and you must have your own transportation. We started the journey at 7AM with his motorcycle. It’s an hour journey from our place but it’s near the airport. The place is not touristy and so far only locals go there. It rains the night before and the land was wet and slippery.

I can smell the crispness of the wind blowing my face. I can breath the mixed smell of the grass and the sea and it was a great feeling. It feels like a long ride because my brother was very careful in driving not to let us slide.

The view was worth the ride. Good thing is that there’s a cottage that cater the locals. It only costs Php100 (USD2.50) per table. There is also a chapel facing the beach. We ordered coffee. Everything was peaceful. The visitor that time was only the two of us.

The cottage. You have to go down at the side to be able to go down to the water.

The Chapel:

Getting around the area:

After getting around and chit-chat a bit with our uncle, we head to El Salvador where you can see the biggest Divine Mercy Shrine in the Philippines.

I value your thoughts...
