When I travel, I always heard this word, "You are so rich, you have a lot of money to travel." My ear always bleeds when I heard that words. If I'm pissed off, I normally answer, "Yes, I'm so rich because I booked my flight ticket six months ago, the time the airline has a promotion and I normally grab it if it is way below the average price." This shuts them up or they just don't understand it because they don't travel, much more traveling alone. If I'm cool, I will just smile at them and say, "Yes, why…more
I woke up at 4:30AM getting ready when at 5:00AM, the rain pours down. Win Nyunt called the boatman and he said he is coming. Win Nyunt told me that I can choose to go without the sun or wait for the rain to stop whatever time it is. I told him I just wait. At 6:30AM, the rain slowed down and I went with the boatman. His name is Colleen. We just walked from the guesthouse to the canal. Luckily, the rain stops when we arrived in the jetty. Welcome to Inle. A morning that is never broken. I…more
The bus arrives in Inle a little late. Instead of 3AM, it arrives at 4AM due to rain. There was a check point before the bus arrives in Inle station where they will ask for a USD10.00 from the foreigners. I don't know what is that payment for. I was so sleepy that I only opened my eyes and get back to sleep. I was waiting for the collector to approach me or wake me up to collect that money until I noticed that the bus moved again. Nobody woke me up to collect money. I was thinking maybe they…more
I woke up at 5:30AM by the sound of a gong. I went out and saw some villagers paraded asking for donation for the temple and the monks. I checked out at 7AM and leave my things in the reception. There was no sun, only heavy clouds, so watching sunrise in Bagan is cancelled. I prayed that it won't rain. I took my bike to get around Bagan and everything I saw was lovely. This signage make me stop. Mukha in Philippines means face. Going to Chatu-Mukha. Chatu-Mukha area: And found this place in another area to take a selfie.…more
We arrived at 3:45PM, 15 minutes earlier than expected at the Old Bagan Station. A boy approached me and the assistant driver told me that the boy will send me to Pann Cherry with his carriage. It was only a 3 minute ride, haha. I'd rather walk but to not to disappoint the young boy who drive the carriage, I just took the boy's offer. I asked him how much and he said I can give any amount. This is the answer that I really don't like. I asked him again and he said a thousand. Well, it's only a dollar…more
We bid goodbye at 9AM the next morning with Mimi's family. They sent me back to Pyin Oo Lwin terminal going to Bagan. We arrived in the terminal at 9:20AM and at 9:30, the bus leaves, no, it was not a bus, it was a van. It supposed to leave at 10AM but maybe there's no passenger anymore so it leaves earlier than expected. But along the way, it stops, picking up not passengers but their items to drop along the way as well. It was like a trade van. Ride to Bagan from Pyin Oo Lwin was about 6…more
